Alan got his first taste of haiku from American haiku poet Nick Virgilio. As one of his high school teachers, he tried to ignore almost all of what this poet had to say. Nearly three decades later, this influence has finally blossomed, and Alan struggles to remember every word spoken by his teacher from those high school days. He lives in New Jersey with his wife and 11 year old son.
